OUR TRAINERS

Lesley Davenport is originally from Marietta, Ohio. A committed dancer at a young age, Lesley left home at 15 to study at Ballet Met Academy in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that she decided to pursue a career in dance and movement. Graduating from Point Park University with a BA in Ballet/Jazz in 1998, she performed and taught dance full-time for the next 5 years. A founding member of H2O Contemporary Dance in 1998, along with partners, Danielle K. Pavlik and Mariah Mcleod, Lesley still actively dances and teaches in H2O’s host school, The Dance Conservatory of Pittsburgh.
In 2000, Lesley began training in the Pilates Method under Gwen Hunter Ritchie. A long-time sufferer of back pain, she was astounded at the changes a steady Pilates routine brought. In 2002, Lesley completed the Core Dynamics Teacher Training Program under Michele Larsson (a second generation Pilates teacher for the enthusiasts out there.) For the next three years, Lesley taught Pilates throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area, at places such as The Rivers Club, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Fox Chapel Myotherapy, Wellspring Studio, and Club One. In 2004, Lesley implemented the Pilates Program at Club One Xpress, South Hills.
Through her many experiences as an instructor, Lesley discovered a need for a training center that fosters athleticism along with artistry of teaching. In 2006, Lesley founded the Pilates Center of Pittsburgh to fulfill this need. Inspired by the studio’s mission, Lesley returned to her classical roots to resume study of Pilates with Power Pilates of New York City. Completing their program in 2008, Lesley found the perfect fit for the staff of The Pilates Center of Pittsburgh. Promoting the skills of creativity, clarity, confidence, caution, and compassion in its trainers, Lesley is proud to be a Power Pilates trainer.
Currently, she is on faculty of The Dance Alloy and Point Park University, where she teaches ballet and Pilates. Lesley lives in Dormont, Pa. with her husband Michael.

Aubrey Mock is originally from Myerstown, Pa. Attending and graduating from Point Park University with a B.A. in Dance, Ballet/Jazz emphasis, it was through the dance world that she discovered the incredible Pilates method. Aubrey noticed an immediate increase in her body's abilites, both in a fitness capacity as well as an overall sense of balance and inner well-being. "It gave me a whole new outlook on how I should be using and moving my body, not just in the dance studio, but in my everyday life." Aubrey is certified through Power Pilates in New York City. She is a full time trainer and the Operations Manager for The Pilates Center of Pittsburgh. Aubrey is on staff with Verve Wellness and locally with the Mt. Michele Rowland has spent most of her life growing up and living in the Pittsburgh region. She has a background in biology with a degree in Environmental Science from California University of PA. After college Michele began an 11 year career with the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Laboratory as a Forensic Scientist. In May of 2009, Michele left the PA State Police to pursue a new career path in the health and wellness field and training to teach Pilates was the first step on that path.
Michele stepped into The Pilates Center of Pittsburgh studio in the summer of 2007 to take her first ever Pilates class and fell instantly in love. As the months went by Michele became aware of the many benefits Pilates had to her overall lifestyle, to include her running and strength training. It seemed a natural progression for Michele to follow this passion and become a Pilates Teacher. In April 2009, Michele successfully completed her Beginner Mat Course with Power Pilates and started teaching immediately. From there, it was full-steam ahead as she completed her Beginner System Training in August 2009 and Intermediate System Training in January 2010, both with Power Pilates.
Michele is a life-long believer in exercise enhancing one’s health and attitude. She loves the challenges and rewards that come with teaching Pilates and helping clients move better and feel better. Michele and her husband Craig live in the South Hills and will be expanding their family in July 2010 with the birth of their little girl.

Nicole Traud comes to Pilates from an athletic background that was hampered by too many injuries, backaches, and joint pains to be productive. Finding that injuries and chronic back pain and regular trips to the chiropractor were beginning to take a toll on other areas of life (and quality of life), Nicole turned to Pilates as a way to help the pain – what she found was a new passion!  Being a coach and teacher at heart, Nicole embraced teaching Pilates as an opportunity to become a better student as well as share the energy and passion that she has found in her practice. Graduating from University of Texas-San Antonio BS and Carlow University MS, Nicole is thrilled to combine her professional career as a leadership development coach and consultant to the diverse talents of the faculty of the Pilates Center of Pittsburgh. In addition to currently working on her System 2 certification with Power Pilates, Nicole is a happily married mother of 2 early Pilates practitioners, coaches youth soccer, and is happily re-discovering a life of pain-free athletics and exercise!

Sue Williams came to The Pilates Center of Pittsburgh as a student, and after a few years began the teacher training process. In Auguest of 2009, Sue completed her Power Pilates beginner mat Certification here in Pittsburgh. Since then she has also completed her Beginner Apprenticeship with the Studio. In addition to training clients at the studio, Sue leads regular groups at Bodytech in Southpointe, and at Improvement Through Movement in Bethel Park.

Susie Golebie has been working as a freelance graphic designer for more than 16 years. In 2007, she began pilates training with Lesley Davenport to regain mobility from a “frozen shoulder.” The results were immediate, and she was hooked. Susie’s love of pilates and desire to help others enjoy its benefits lead her to obtain her beginner mat certification with Power Pilates in February 2010. She recently finished her Apprenticeship and is thrilled to be starting her journey as a trainer at the studio. When she is not working with clients or working out at the studio, Susie maintains the Pilates Center of Pittsburgh web site. She lives in Mt. Lebanon with her husband Paul and two teenagers.
