Lesley Davenport is a lifelong dancer, initially trained in classical ballet and then in contemporary dance. She discovered Pilates during her performing career as a way to heal and rebuild her body after various injuries. Her Pilates certifications are with Core Dynamics, studying with Michele Larsson in Santa Fe, NM and with Power Pilates Studios, New York City. Lesley is the owner/director of The Pilates Center of Pittsburgh and is an adjunct faculty member of Point Park University, where she teaches ballet technique and Pilates. Lesley performs with H2O Contemporary Dance and is an avid student of body therapies. She is a member of The Pilates Method Alliance and passionately promotes movement, wellness and Pilates.
Michael Duray Is a body worker since 2002. Mike maintains a private practice which focuses on Structural Integration, orthopedic massage and an exploration of movement though individual Pilates instruction. A student of motion, he has actively practiced Shotokan Karate since 1972. He volunteers his time as an instructor at the University Of Pittsburgh. Mike is a certified Peak Pilates instructor and is also on staff at Carnegie Mellon’s Department of Athletics where he teaches group classes. He is also a faculty member of the Massage Therapy Institute of western Pennsylvania, where he endeavors to increase local awareness of the benefit of Structural Integration and Visceral Manipulation.
Kristen Londono's life, in one form or another, has always revolved around physical fitness, sports and maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle. After graduating from Colorado State University in 2005, she moved to Orlando, Florida to pursue a public relations career in the professional sports industry. Through Pilates, Kristen saw and felt training results she had only dreamed of. Her overall flexibility and strength increased dramatically, her posture drastically improved, and long-term back pain associated with sway back and a pinched nerve practically disappeared. In February of 2009, she was accepted into the prestigious NY Pilates Studio Certification Program, the oldest authentic certification program in existence. As an apprentice, Kristen has received more than 500 hours of intensive training with Jennifer O'Mara, owner of The Pilates Loft in Orlando, Master Teacher Brett Howard of The Pilates Haus in New Jersey, and David Freeman, owner of The Pilates Institute of Fort Lauderdale and Director of The United States Pilates Association. Kristen plans to complete her Apprenticeship in the Fall of 2009, and looks forward to helping her clients achieve the fitness results they've always dreamed of!
Aubrey Mock moved from a small town in central PA to Pittsburgh, attending and graduating from Point Park University with a BA in Dance. Introduced to Pilates throughout her performing arts training, she was thrilled to find how well Pilates complimented the athleticism needed as a performing artist. Aubrey is Pilates certified with Power Pilates Studios, New York City. She is on staff at The Dance Conservatory of Pittsburgh, teaching dance, and Pilates. At The Pilates Center of Pittsburgh, Aubrey teaches Pilates and is the Operations Assistant for our studio.
Michele Rowland comes from a biology background with a degree in Environmental Science. In 2007, she began taking Pilates to compliment training as a runner and increase her overall strength. As a result of her workouts and practice, Michele immediately experienced the overall benefits of Pilates to her physical and emotional well-being. As a life-long believer in exercise enhancing one’s health and attitude, Michele has begun the journey to learn more about Pilates and is anxious to share it with others through teaching. Her goal is to become certified as a Pilates Instructor and begin to help others to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
Cecile Waltz comes from a theater background, performing throughout Pennslyania and Greater Pittsburgh from a young age. She is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Fitness and Wellness. Cecile holds Pilates certificaitions from PHI Pilates, Pittsburgh, PA and Power Pilates Studios, New York City. She hopes to return to school to pursue her education further in Movement and Theatre. Currently, Cecile is the Operations Manager at The Pilates Center of Pittsburgh, and a Personal Trainer for Club One Express. She teaches Pilates, personal training, and nutritional workshops. Her interests are working with students with special needs and staying current on the arts.. |
